Our people

If it weren’t for some of these beautiful humans, we wouldn’t be here today! Here are a few of the important people in our lives who will help us celebrate. Bios, why they’re important to us, funny stories, some cute pics and such…

  • Maid of Honor

Demi and I met in dance class when we were about 5 years old at Larkin Dance Studio. However, we forgot that we knew each other (lol) and met again in 2010 while dancing for the Minnesota Vikings. One night after practice around 10pm, we found ourselves chatting in the parking lot for well over an hour. It was in that moment that I knew we'd be besties. That is my all-time favorite memory of Dem and a moment that I'm so incredibly grateful for!

Tied for first would be alllll of the shenanigans, wine nights, and parties we had over the years as roomies (yay common law marriage!) and our recent girls trip to Chicago.

  • Matron of Honor

Ell Bell! Ell and I met in 2015 when we danced for the Timberwolves. I remember taking our very first picture together in the locker room while in Canada for a game. For some reason, I knew in that moment that we would be lifelong friends.

Some of my favorite memories of Ellen all happened in a span of two years or so. I can’t explain the amount of bellyaches we’ve had during our silly mornings together after a night out on the town, her many hilarious stories of situations that would only happen to her (ex. the night she met her husband - s/o Al Pal!), and all the special wine nights/sleepovers we get to have when she visits from London.

  • Bridesmaid

Julia Gulia! My girl. She has been there from the start! Jules and I met at Larkin when we were three and we’ve been best friends ever since!

My favorite memory of Jules would probably be all of our sleepovers filled with lots of Dance Dance Revolution, frosting straight from the can, and pepperoni pizza rolls. Jules would call her dad and "pretend" she forgot her toothbrush at home and convinced him to (time and time again) to deliver boatloads of snacks to us.

A close second would be all of the years we terrorized my grandparents when we traveled to nationals...or her many leg holds and splits in the middle of our college bars.

  • Bridesmaid

Statzi Matzi! Leah and I met during Timberwolves tryouts. I didn't have tights and Demi told me that Leah had an extra pair for me. I was terrified of Statz when I first met her (mainly bc of her annoyingly perfect brows) but thank God I was unprepared because who knew we’d soon be bffs!

My favorite memory of Statz would be all of the crazy nights we had at HQ during Covid -- dancing on stools, lots of shots, and endless karaoke. But, I can’t forget becoming dog moms around the same time and raising our goofy lil dudes together (hi norm!)

Close second would be our many wild nights out at the Loop and our boozy brunches the mornings after where we lived and died by our motto — Groove, Giggle, Guzzle.

  • Bridesmaid

Katie and I met the summer before freshman year of high school while trying out for the CDH dance team. We became instant besties, as we were the only two freshmen to make the varsity team.

Some of my favorite memories with Katie include coffee tables, too many bottles of wine, and hours of nostalgic playlists. We’d swear to only have one glass of wine but before we knew it, we were all dancing on tables and belting out our favorite songs (s/o tidal dave for being a trooper!).

Close runner up would be our girls trip to Vegas where we “hung out” with Khloe Kardashian and Katie ended up on TMZ…or hanging out at her haunted house in high school? her dad’s popcorn? their ghost?

  • Bridesmaid

Clare Bear! Clare and I met in high school (thanks to Katie!) and were roommates for a bit after college. One of my favorite memories with Clare is the summer where we quite literally lived at Bunny's/JJ's and laughed until our stomaches hurt. We'd sit there for hours and slowly convince more and more people to join us until we basically took over the place.

I can't forget the many winery/party bus tours she'd coordinate every fall and the one time she got us all kicked off of the party bus and ended the tradition for good (and received her new nickname, of which I cannot share...!). She is also the queen of High School Musical and there is absolutely no memory of Clare without her belting out Breaking Free. (I’m sure you’ll see it for yourself on the dance floor!

  • Bridesmaid

Wynts! My little sis! I have so many great memories of Wynter over the years. Nothing has been more special than watching her grow into the beautiful young lady she is today.

My favorite memory with Wynter is probably a sleepover-extravaganza we had a few years ago. We spent the night freezing our butts off at the Winter Carnival, stuffing our faces with dessert at Red Cow, and stayed up until the wee hours of the night watching movies. In the morning, we grabbed brunch at The Lowry, donuts at Glam Doll and headed to get our nails done on the way back home.

Those were such special moments that I'll never forget!

  • Flower Girl/Pup Attendant

Milena is Daniel’s first cousin once removed, this picture is from when we went to see her sister, Marie, perform in the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Daniel lived with Milena and Marie’s parents, Jacquie and Guillermo, when he first moved to Minnesota serving as Marie’s live-in Manny/Best Friend until he found a job and eventually found his footing. Lucky for us, Milena happens to run her own dog-sitting company so you’ll find her escorting George during the ceremony.

  • Officiant

Grams!!! We are SO lucky to have my amazing grandma officiate our wedding. She is an absolute angel on earth and someone who I look up to dearly. She and my grandpa had the most loving and beautiful marriage ever and we are blessed to have her play such an important part in our special day!

  • Best Man

My earliest memory of Matt is following him around our house in Lebo, always wanting to do whatever he was doing. He played soccer, so I played soccer. He did Taekwondo, so I did Taekwondo. When he quit baseball, I quit baseball. I could go on forever. I consider myself lucky I was able to live with Matt in Minneapolis for two years of our adult life and that he met Whit about the same time I did.

  • Groomsman

I met Andy about the same time I moved to Minnesota, at Stegman's tryouts at the YWCA on Lake Street. He is the base of the 4 Horsemen and, by far my most dependable friend. My favorite memory of Andy is when we road-tripped to Winnipeg for the Women's World Cup in 2015, pictured above with Andy’s eagle costume (he is the king of costumes). There is no one I’d trust more on snack duty for a road trip.

  • Groomsman

Shown here with a custom birthday t-shirt, he will literally do anything for his friends, and sometimes a random stranger (I once saw him save a guy’s life, without hesitation, at a block party). Jake joined Stegmans a few years after me and almost instantly was inseparable from Andrew, Nate, and me. My favorite memories of Jake are playing Dance Dance Revolution at 4 am after a stop at the Uptown Diner, and the countless holidays I've spent with his family.

  • Groomsman

The middle of our original totem pole picture, Nate always has you either rolling your eyes or dying from laughter. Another Stegman's guy, Nate, and I were regulars at Liquor Lyles and The Front while Andy was in Skidmark for work. My favorite memories of Nate are when we road-tripped to Des Moines and KC for his 30th birthday, and when we had to push his car through Uptown.

  • Groomsmen

My new brothers. Growing up as the youngest I remember countless instances where I wished I had younger siblings, most of them were Matt beating me up. It's been fun getting to know these three. Dallas has the unique distinction of having to suffer through a multi-hour road trip with my father. Riley, like me, is a college athlete. Last but not least, Shea, it's been exciting watching him grow up. They seem to have accepted me, and I’m looking forward to the years to come.

  • Usher

I’ve realized while working on this page that I’m horrible at taking pictures with my friends, so here is Cedric when we were in Portland. Cedric and I lived together and played soccer together in college. After graduation, we went on trips to Chicago, Portland, and Montreal to see our beloved Sporting Kansas City play.

  • Usher

Sorry Jared, not the best picture quality. But this was the day Jared joined our Covid bubble at HQ celebrating his birthday at Whit’s apartment. I met Jared through Stegmans and he immediately became one of my best friends.

If you get the chance, ask him how he met his Fiance, their story is better than ours…

  • Ringer Bearer

The bestest lil dood in the world! From my perspective (Daniel), not only was I lucky enough to find the perfect girl but she just so happened to come with the best dog ever. George took a few months to warm up to me but after hundreds of treats (not an exaggeration, I’m reprimanded every vet visit when they check his weight), we are besties and I couldn’t imagine being a dog dad for anyone else.
